FAQ

I AM NOT FROM THE U.S. BUT I AM INTERESTED IN SELLING YOUR BICYCLES.

If you are a wholesale distributor and located in Europe, please contact our European office located in Germany by sending an e-mail to info@felt.de requesting information on becoming a Felt Bicycles distributor. If you are a wholesale distributor located in any other country outside of North America and Europe, please contact our headquarters located in the United States by sending an e-mail to adammicklin@feltbicycles.com requesting information on becoming a Felt Bicycles distributor.

I AM NOT IN THE USA BUT HAVE A QUESTION ON MY PARTICULAR BIKE.

Please see the list of our distributers here and contact the correct distributer for service in your country.

I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MY BIKE THAT I BELIEVE TO BE A WARRANTY.

This page goes over the details of Felt’s warranty program. For any claim to be considered, the bicycle must be brought into an authorized Felt dealer in assembled condition and accompanied by the original, dated sales receipt for the bicycle or frameset.

I AM LOOKING FOR A SPECIFIC FELT PART THAT I DO NOT SEE ON YOUR WEBSITE.

Please contact your local Felt dealer (or any Felt dealer) and they will contact Felt Dealer Support to see what is available and any options. Dealer Support stocks many small parts that are specific to Felt Bicycles, we cannot ship these parts direct to a consumer and it must go through a Felt dealer.

I CANNOT FIND A LOCAL DEALER THAT CARRIES YOUR PRODUCT.  CAN I PURCHASE A BIKE ONLINE?

Please be aware Felt does not authorize the sale of bicycles online and any purchases made online will void your warranty. Our bicycles need to be assembled by an authorized Felt Dealer.

I CANNOT FIND A LOCAL DEALER THAT CARRIES YOUR PRODUCT.  CAN I PURCHASE A BIKE DIRECTLY FROM YOU?

Felt bicycles can only be purchased from an authorized Felt dealer. We have an online store which offers soft goods and some small parts only. Visit our Dealer Locator for the closest Felt shop to you.

I AM TRYING TO FIND THE RIGHT SIZE BIKE.  I AM xx" tall AND HAVE A xx" INSEAM. WOULD A 54 FIT ME OK?

All fitting issues are left up to your professional Felt dealer. Proper bike fit is very important and must be done in person and by a professional. Rider height, upper body, lower body, riding style and flexibility all come into play to make the correct choice. On the website under fit, you will see a very general fit guide to get each rider close to the size needed.

I PLAN TO PURCHASE A RACK FOR MY CAR. WHAT TYPE OF CARRIER WILL SAFELY SECURE MY BICYCLE?

With our aluminum and steel-frame models, most any rack on the market will allow you to transport your bicycle safely. With carbon fiber frames, we encourage our customers to use racks that clamp the fork axle slot or hold the wheels in a tray. Bear in mind that carbon fiber does not respond well to point loads and anything that applies clamping pressure to carbon fiber tubes has the potential to damage the product.

I HAVE HEARD THAT YOU SHOULD NOT PUT A CARBON BIKE ON A TRAINER - IS THIS TRUE?

Felt cannot officially recommend using any trainer that the frame mounts to, all-out efforts can cause side load on the thin seat stays that they were not designed to handle. If the frame breaks this would not be a warranty.

Felt knows that many riders will use a trainer either in a warm up situation or in a bad weather/dark outside situation. We know Felt pros even do this. It has to be done correctly and the rider needs to know the bike was not designed for it so you have to be easy (no standing sprints for example). Some trainers are better than others but we do not know how hard it will be ridden, how often or the weight of the rider. The ones with side to side movement are much better vs. the rigid locked ones. The Felt engineers want to design bikes for the best possible riding feel on the road and do not want to compromise the ride to by making them optimal for every trainer.

I JUST PURCHASED A NEW FELT.  HOW DO I REGISTER IT?

It's easy—click here to register your new Felt bicycle.

MY DEALER DID NOT GIVE ME AN OWNER'S MANUAL WHEN I PURCHASED MY BIKE—CAN YOU PLEASE SEND ME ONE?

This page has most of our manuals; note the different tabs for Road, Tri and Mountain. Keep in mind the main owner’s manual is not model specific, it covers many models.

I AM TRYING TO IDENTIFY THE MAKE AND MODEL OF MY FELT BIKE, I HAVE THE SERIAL #.

This page goes back a few years to view previous model bikes. The serial # does not always point to the exact model and model year, if you cannot find it in the previous year websites, send us a photo and we can help identify it.

DO YOU SELL TOUCH UP PAINT?

Felt does not have touch up paint available. Some bikes do come with it but we have found that most of the time when it is needed, the paint would be dried up and not usable. We have found the best way is to visit a hobby shop and they usually have a wide variety of touch up colors. One other option is to use nail polish, which is an enamel paint and comes in a rich variety of colors. If the frame has a matte finish it gets a little trickier as we use a custom blend of matte clear coat that is difficult to match. Felt uses a solvent based basecoat and clearcoat system.

CAN I GET MY FELT FRAME OR FORK REPAINTED?

Because the painting process can have potential reactions with the materials of the frame or fork, this will void your warranty.  If this is something that you still choose to do, make sure you take your frame to someone who has experience painting bicycles.  If you have a carbon fiber frame or fork, make sure you take your frame to someone who has experience painting carbon fiber bicycles as this process differs from painting aluminum or steel frames.  Please note that Felt cannot take responsibility for this as it is out of our control and it will void your warranty.

I AM LOOKING FOR SOME REPLACEMENT STICKERS FOR MY FRAME?

The sticker kit that came on your bike is actually a water transfer sticker under the clearcoat, we do not sell specific model replacement frame sticker kits. The Felt online store sells some basic different size decals that can be used.

WHAT IS THE MAX TIRE WIDTH THAT WILL FIT ON MY BIKE?

Felt Bicycles designs its bicycles in compliance with standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) which call for 6mm of clearance on either side of the tire. Those standards are set, in part, for safety reasons. Felt Bicycles recognizes that some riders may still want even wider tires for certain uses resulting in 3mm of clearance on each side, but they do so at their own risk. Keep in mind each tire maker widths may vary, even when marked the same size. Keep in mind rim widths also affect tire width. It is a good idea to measure the inside of your frame and brakes to see how much room is available.

I HAVE PICKED OUT A BIKE MODEL BUT WOULD LIKE A CERTAIN PART SWITCHED OUT FOR ONE OF MY CHOICE, CAN YOU DO THIS SWITCH BEFORE SHIPPING TO MY FELT DEALER?

Felt does not have the ability to switch out parts from original spec, the Product Managers work very hard to make spec choices that are the best choice for all. In some cases a bicycle dealer may be able to switch out a part depending on many factors.

I HAVE A RIDER SPONSORSHIP OR EVENT SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL, WHO DO I SEND THIS TO?

For USA please feel free to send to info@feltbicycles.com and we will forward to the appropriate internal Felt team. For Germany and most of Europe please send to info@felt.de. For countries outside of USA and Europe, please contact the particular distributer in that area.
