Felt Riders Storm Podium at Cali World Cup

Cali, Colombia -- Felt-sponsored track athletes scored a
handful of medals at Round 2 of the
World Cup in Cali, Colombia. World Champion
Sarah Hammer led the way, riding her
Felt TK1 to the gold medal in the women’s omnium at the December 1-3 event.
In addition to Hammer’s victory,
Canadian Zach Bell rode Felt to a silver medal in the men’s omnium, and the Felt-sponsored USA women’s team pursuit squad—
Sarah Hammer, Jennie Reed and
Lauren Tamayo—took the bronze medal in that event.
Hammer, a
four-time World Champion on the track, battled with Canadian rival Tara Whitten in the women’s omnium, which combines six different races over two days. Racing on the Cali track, which is covered but situated in an open-air structure, the American won the flying lap race and scratch race. She also finished second in the points race.
Bell, a Canadian Felt rider, was sitting fourth overall after the first day of the men’s omnium events, but he surged in the final three events on Sunday, moving up to second overall. He scored
new personal bests in the i
ndividual pursuit (4:27.686) and
time trial (1:03.805).
The next round of the Track Cycling World Cup will take place in Beijing, January 13-15.
