ATOC Stage 1 - Cold, Wet & Miserable!

Santa Rosa, CA - When the pros come over from Europe and think about riding in California you can bet this is not what they had in mind. The 107mi Stage One from Davis to Santa Rosa was an epic marked by very cold, wet weather and ridden in full winter gear. To sum it up, there was an all-day breakaway which later lead to a 17-man chase, which in the end saw two split from and join the leader and that's how it finished. Garmin/Slipstream's Dave Zabriskie (left) and Tom Danielson both made the 17-man'er at 1.07 down on the winner, Francisco Mancebo and now rest 3rd and 16th overall, respectively.
Weather forecast for Stage 2 - More rain.
