Poperinge, Belgium (October 3, 2008)—Tyler Farrar moved into the overall lead of the Circuit Franco-Belge as a result of his second place finish in Stage 2. The Garmin/Chipotle-H3O rider took enough bonus seconds thanks to his fast finish to move 2 seconds clear of Tom Boonen in the overall classification.
Farrar now leads the overall, points and young riders’ classifications.
Stage two of the race took riders 184.3km from Bray Dunes to Poperinge. Conditions were rainy and cold—fall has settled back into Flanders.
