Felt athletes claimed five National road titles over the weekend, including three by ExergyTWENTY12, one by Team Exergy and one by Argos-Shimano.
Beginning with ExergyTWENTY12, who showed why they are one of the world's top women's teams, it all began with Kaitie Antonneau (USA) who nabbed top honors in the US U23 TT aboard her Felt DA, beating her nearest competitor by a whooping 42 seconds over the 30K course. In the US women's elite competition, teammate Alison Tetrick (USA) took a strong 5th.
In National Championship criterium action, it was fast-finisher Theresa Cliff-Ryan (USA) who took the US title as she and the girls of ExergyTWENTY12 covered all moves, all day - and in doing so, allowed Theresa to showcase her finishing sprint speed in the 50K elite women's event. Not to be outdone, teammate Rhae Shaw (CAN) took the Canadian National Criterium Championships just days after taking second in the Canadian National TT Championships! And, in directly related Canadian action, it was Team Exergy's Ben Chaddock (CAN) taking the men's Criterium title in an all-alone sprint finish making for a crit sweep by Felt athletes in the land of the maple leaf!
Finally, rising talent Tobias Ludvigsson (SWE) of Argos-Shimano who took a hard-earned 10th overall on the Swedish National Pro Road Race, and in doing so earned the U23 title as the first under-23 athlete across the line, just 29sec back on the top time. Tobias joins Yuki Doi (JPN) as the newest 2012 National Road Champion who ride for Argos-Shimano.
