Apeldoorn, Netherlands – Sarah Hammer captured her third medal at the UCI Track World Championships this weekend, making her the first American woman to win three medals at Track Worlds. Hammer took silver in the Women’s Omnium on Sunday to go with her Silver in Team Pursuit and Gold in the Individual Pursuit.
Hammer, who won two of the UCI World Cup Omniums earlier this year, is continuing her transition to the multi disciplined event. The twenty-seven year old American was able to string together a solid series of races in the Omnium, eventually pulling into second place after the final event.
Fellow Felt athlete Zach Bell competed in the Men’s Omnium, taking 6th overall. The Canadian, who had won the World Cup Omnium standings, pieced together some solid results at Worlds including winning the Omnium Flying Lap.
