Korean track racer Hye Jin Lee
scored a breakthrough victory
on her Felt TK1
bike at the 2010 UCI Junior Track World Championships in Italy on Thursday. Lee won the women’s 500-meter Time Trial with a time of 0:35.479, not far off the mark of a world record.
It was a historic ride for Lee, who became the first Korean cyclist to win a world championship.
Lee is a resident athlete at the UCI World Cycling Center and has benefitted from Felt’s sponsorship of the facility. Felt partnered with the UCI last year, supplying a fleet of road time trial, track, mountain and BMX bikes to the facility. More than 80 riders from 38 nations benefitted from training at the World Cycling Center last year.
The Junior Track World Championships will continue in Italy over the next three days.
