MTB Star Litscher Will Ride Felt in 2011

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Germany — The Felt Ötztal X-Bionic World Cup mountain bike team announced today the signing of Swiss cross-country talent Thomas Litscher for 2011. The 21-year-old won a silver medal in the Under-23 XC race at World Championships in Canada last week and is considered one of the sport’s rising stars.

“We had great interest in him last year, however his commitments with the MIG team lasted through 2010,” said team director Jorg Scheiderbauer.

Scheiderbauer said he sees great potential in Litscher. In addition to winning silver at the Worlds in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Québec, last weekend, he was also part of the winning Swiss team in the team relay.

Litscher burst on the scene in 2007, winning both the European and World Championship in the Junior category. Still competing in the Under-23 ranks, he’s already on par with some of the world’s top elite racers. He had two top-20 finishes in World Cup racing this season.

“The team and support here are perfect for me,” Litscher said. “Together, with hard work, we can achieve a lot.”
