Utah — Felt-sponsored multisport athlete Josiah Middaugh was crowned the 2010 U.S. XTERRA Champion at the XTERRA USA Championships in Ogden, Utah. It was the final race of the off-road triathlon series' U.S. Pro Series.
"The pro field in Ogden was the strongest I have seen so far this year, and although the race felt like a struggle I pressed hard the whole way and was able to secure a top 3 finish for my 6th time in as many races," Middaugh said.
Middaugh, a six-time U.S. XTERRA Champion from Vail, Colorado, went on a tear in September. He finished first at the XTERRA Canada Championship in Whistler, British Columbia, on September 5, a result that pinned him a favorite for the September 25 USA Championship at Snowbasin Resort in Ogden, Utah. He captured the U.S. title by finishing second overall in the series (top American).
"I feel very pleased with my performances throughout the season and the Felt Nine
Team has proven to be a very versatile bike on a variety of courses," Middaugh said.
Middaugh's final race of the season will be the XTERRA World Championship in Maui on October 24.
