Oct. 4, 2008, Carson, Calif.—The fact that Garmin-Chipotle H30 rider Taylor Phinney took his third national title in the 4,000 meter pursuit was impressive enough. He topped it Saturday by setting a new track record, clocking at time of four minutes, 23.514 seconds while defeating Daniel Harm.
The win makes his third after winning the kilo and team pursuit earlier in the week at ADT Event Center.
Phinney’s performance wasn’t the only star showing of the day. Daniel Holloway of Garmin-Chipotle/H30 crushed the competiton en route to victory in the scratch race, lapping runner-up Kenny Williams once and the remainder of the field twice.
