Colombia— Felt-sponsored track racer Jimmy Watkins scored a major win on Saturday at the Gran Caracol de Pista track event in Colombia. Watkins topped an international field to win the Men’s Keirin on Day Three of the race.
In the final, Watkins outsprinted Azizul Awang, the 2009 Asian Sprint and Keirin champion, and Colombian World Cup winner Leonardo Narvaez, who finished second and third respectively. Also racing in the final was Dutchman Teun Mulder, the 2008 World Champion in the kilo. Mulder finished fifth.
Watkins’ win added to a successful weekend for Felt track athletes—Sarah Hammer dominated at the USA Cycling Track Championships in Los Angeles, winning championship titles in the individual pursuit, the points race and the team pursuit. Also winning at U.S. Nationals for Felt was Adam Duvendeck, who won the Men’s Sprint.
