The Kenda/Felt Mountain Bike Team returns for 2013 with veterans Colin Cares and Drew Edsall and the exciting addition of Mitchell Hoke. The Kenda/Felt Team will be competing in off road events ranging from XC’s to 100-milers, Short Track races to Stage Races, Eliminators and Enduros.
“Kenda is extremely proud to be able to continue the relationship we have with the team as it evolves into one of the best domestic professional mountain bike teams.” said Ben Anderson, North American Marketing Manager and Director of Product Development at Kenda USA. “We are excited to see Colin Cares and Drew Edsall back this year, and we’re looking forward to great things from Mitchell Hoke as he joins Kenda/Felt.”
“As a manufacturer, a relationship with a team like Kenda/Felt allows us to develop products that are put through the rigors of World Cup events, including Ultra Endurance races and everything in between,” said Anderson.
Longtime Kenda rider Colin Cares will return for continued success in the US Pro XCT Series along with an eye on the European World Cups. In 2012 Colin led the Pro XCT Series for most of the season before finishing in fourth place, behind three US Olympians. Colin represented Team USA at the UCI World Championships, his sixth trip to Worlds for Team USA. Colin Cares, a former U-23 US National Champion, lives in Boulder, Colorado.
Drew Edsall returns for his second year with the Kenda/Felt Team. Drew will continue his emphasis on National Ultra Endurance (NUE) Series races, as well as the Trans-Sylvania Epic stage race, events he had success in during 2012. Drew also conducted youth and adult clinics for the Kenda/Felt Team. The Fort Myers, Florida native will continue to provide new mountain bike riders with access to his years of coaching and racing knowledge in 2013.
Mitchell Hoke will be joining the Kenda/Felt Team for 2013. Last year Mitch wrapped up the XC season on Team USA at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. Hoke will pursue a full domestic XC season and showcase the abilities of the new Felt Compulsion LT 1 in the fast-growing world of Enduro events. Mitch is from Boulder, Colorado.
“It is very rewarding to know Felt helped put the Kenda/Felt Team racers on the podium in events from XC’s to 100-milers in 2012 and we look forward to even more in 2013,” said Doug Martin, Sports Marketing Director of Felt Bicycles. “With the return of both Colin and Drew, plus the exciting addition of Mitchell, we feel the team is poised to move to a new level. Felt has always hung its hat on racing and we are truly privileged to be associated with this program.”
