American track racer Matt Baranoski traveled to Scotland over the weekend to race the final round of the Revolution track series at the Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow. It was a long way to travel for one night of racing, but sure enough he made the trip worthwhile. Riding his Felt TK1, Baranoski racked up three wins against some of the world’s fastest elite track racers.
Baranoski, a two-time World Championship medalist as a junior, rode to wins in the sprints and the keirin. And he also teamed up with fellow American Kevin Mansker to win the team sprint.
A crowd of close to 4,000 turned out to witness the first Revolution event to be held in Scotland. Baranoski went three for three, winning every event that he entered. The victories will give him momentum as he heads to the Pan American Championships in Mexico next week, where he will race for the USA Cycling national team.
