Felt’s multisport athletes have gotten our of the gate fast in 2014 and have already racked up several notable wins. From triathlon to XTERRA, Felt bicycles are often seen on the top step of the podium. With the season underway, impressive results are already being seen from Mirinda Carfrae (above, in Kona), Josh Amberger, Michellie Jones and Josiah Middaugh.
Earlier this month, reigning Kona and 2x world champion Mirinda Carfrae once again put on a dominating performance. Aboard her Felt IA at the 70.3 Brasilla Ironman Triathlon, Carfree beat her nearest competitor by over five minutes, taking the half-Iron victory.
Just last weekend Josh Amberger dominated the Gold Coast Triathlon in Australia. Coming out of the water first Amberger mounted his IA and never relinquishing the lead. This was a great win for Josh who worked particularly hard on his running over the winter and so far, it is certainly showing.
Speaking to TriRadar.com Amberger said, “It worked to my strengths today especially on the bike with the big headwind on the way home, I was able to get a good buffer on the way back which grew out to a bigger gap and set up the run for me.”
At the series opener of the XTERRA West Championship in Henderson, Nevada, Josiah Middaugh took the victory. Coming out of the water, Middaugh was 2:30 behind the lead swimmers, but made up the time difference in the bike portion aboard his Felt Edict NINE and finished things off in the run.
Though semi-retired, Michellie Jones proved she is still one of the world’s best as she took the win at the L.A. Triathlon Series at Bonelli Park. This tri is the first of three races and the 3-time world champion and Olympian showed great form in her win.
