CARBON FIBER MANUFACTURING METHOLOGY
F SERIES
In collaboration with several key racers from the Continental Pro Team
Wiesenhoff-Felt, we have developed an all-new F1 Sprint frame to meet the needs
of riders requiring the ultimate in explosive power transfer. This new Sprint frame
will be offered right alongside our original superlight 900 gram F series frame
(now called F1 SL), so riders can select a frame which best meets their individual
requirementss.
Z SERIES
This compact road racing frame offers relaxed geometry and a more
upright body positioning while utilizing exaggerated, sculpted tube shapes for
enhanced stiffness. Used by roughly half of the riders on the USA Pro Continental
team Slipstream-Chipotle, this frame is ideal for classic stage races and weekend
club rides alike.
TRIATHLON / TT
The wind-tunnel developed and proven triathlon/TT frame
system. Not just a frame, but a totally integrated frame, fork, and stem “system”,
and has become the most aerodynamically advanced triathlon bike the world has
ever seen. Featuring our exclusive Bayonet fork, this frame system is utilized on
both the DA and B2 bicycle models for 2008.
FW SERIES
Our FW (Fit Woman) line of women-specific models rises to a new
level of performance in 2008 with a new full-carbon frameset. By utilizing the
advantages of carbon fiber in size-specific lay-ups, we can optimize and balance
the three major factors that contribute to a great frame design: Geometry, weight,
and ride quality.
VIRTUE SERIES
The carbon fiber rear sub-frame utilized on our Virtue full
suspension models (featuring Equilink technology) not only dampens terrain
input, but is also utilized for its inherent spring-like qualities, eliminating a dropout
pivot and becoming a integral, active member of the suspension system.
COMPONENTS
When it comes to bicycle components, we develop only those
we know we can and should improve upon. For example, using the knowledge
we gained from our wind-tunnel testing, for 08 we developed a new carbon
triathlon and TT fork, which turned out to be lighter, stiffer and more aerodynamic
than any other option available on the market. Another example is our road
racing handlebars. While some brands use inexpensive carbon models made of
three-piece bonded/overlapped construction (to facilitate production of multiple
widths) Felt chose to open up our own one-piece molds, resulting in a lighter, and
stronger handlebar. These are just two examples of how, when it comes to
outfitting our bicycles with the best components possible, Felt delivers.
