One of the cool things about Enduro being an up-and-coming discipline here in the good ol’ US and A is all the new venues that host these races. The small town of Ely in Eastern Nevada has been hosting an Enduro (Fears, Tears, and Beers) for a couple of years, and the 2012 edition was the best yet! The support of the community there is unrivaled- every person and business in town loves this race. The local casinos are no exception, with the Jailhouse Casino sponsoring the Pro Prize Purse ($2500!) and post-race banquet, while the Hotel Nevada is part of the first stage- all racers pedal through the casino on their way to the trails!
Felt Enduro athlete, Casey Coffman, was on hand to challenge the pro field, smashing himself and pedaling his Virtue LTD to 3rd in a very talented pro field. He threw a post up on his blog this morning- be sure to check out his race report, and some of his mid-race photography. Mountain Flyer Magazine was there, as well, and have a report and some beautiful photos posted on their website here.
