Felt Bicycles athlete and 5-time World Champion Terenzo Bozzone, 27,  of Auckland, New Zealand won the City Bikes Ironman 70.3 Miami race in Miami, Florida on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Bozzone’s time of 3:42:17 bested second place Jan Van Berkel of the Netherlands by 1:15.

The race was a rematch for Felt rider Bozzone after an earlier two-up slugfest with Van Berkel at Ironman 70.3 Ireland on September 2 when Bozzone lost to Van Berkel after an entire day of racing shoulder to shoulder reminiscent of the1989 Scott/Allen Ironwars duel . Bozzone was nipped by Van Berkel in Ireland by a single second but took revenge in Miami with his 1:15 victory over Van Berkel.

Bozzone adopted a more measured strategy in Miami by racing with the leaders and coming off the bike second to Van Berkel. Bozzone appeared to use the German Nils Frommhold as an early pace marker then assumed command of the race half way through the run.

Terenzo rides a Felt DA equipped with SRAM Red components.
