American track racer Sarah Hammer continued her track-racing dominance over the weekend, riding her Felt TK1 to victory in the women’s omnium event of the final World Cup track event of the 2012-2013 season in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The two-time world champion finished with 14 points, beating second-place finisher Li Huang of China by seven points.
Hammer opened up the competition with wins in the points race and the elimination race. The next day she started off finishing second in the individual pursuit. And she completed the overall win finishing third in the scratch race and fourth in the time trial.
The win in Mexico netted Hammer the overall UCI Track World Cup title for the season. Next up for Hammer and her U.S. teammates is the 2013 Pan Am Continental Track Championships, February 5-10 in Mexico City, followed by the Track World Championships in Belarus in late February.
