Irvine, CA–Felt Bicycles is pleased to announce it will supply road and time trial frames to two U.S. men’s road teams in 2014—the Hincapie Sportswear Development Team that operates out of Greenville, South Carolina and the Horizon Organic/Einstein Bros Bagels Cycling Team based in Boulder, Colorado.
The Hincapie Sportswear Development Team is a registered UCI Continental Team whose roster consists of 14 elite riders and eight juniors. Staying true to the mission of being a developmental program, all elites are under 25 years of age. The team will focus on an aggressive U.S. schedule and through its anticipated performance hope for invites to major U.S. stage races such as the Amgen Tour of California, USA Pro Challenge, and the Tour of Utah.
“The decision to work with the Hincapies was an easy one,” says Doug Martin, Felt’s Sports Marketing Director. “The team not only produces high level results on its own, but has emerged as a legitimate springboard to cycling’s upper ranks. This type of profile fits perfectly with Felt which has a storied history of nurturing and developing talented athletes. We are very proud to be working with Hincapie Sportwear and the Hincapie family in this effort.”
“We are very excited to have Felt partner with our development team for the 2014 season,” said George Hincapie. “Their product speaks for itself and their support will be instrumental as we work towards even bigger goals and greater successes next year.”
The Hincapie Sportswear Development Team includes elite riders: Ty Magner, Oscar Clark, Joey Rosskopf, Robin Carpenter, Alder Martz, Charlie Hough, Jake King, Toms Skujins, Alexander Ray, Thomas Wrona, Dionne Smith, Miguel Byron, Joe Lewis and Joe Schmalz. Their junior team includes: Simon Jones, Andy Schmidt, Gavin Haley, David Lombardo, Richard Rainville, Jordan Marhanka, Brandon Pruett, and Hunter East.
Felt will also supply to the Colorado-based Horizon Organic/Einstein Bros Bagels Cycling Team in 2014. The team maintains its strong roster of up‐and-coming riders bolstered by some great new additions including Fabio Calabria of Team Novo Nordisk and Emerson Oronte of Team Jelly Belly p/b Kenda. With over 20 victories and 35 podium appearances last season, the team will have a greater focus on NRC stage races in 2014 in addition to major events in the Rocky Mountain region.
“I’m extremely excited for 2014,” says team director Nick Traggis. “This year our goal is to establish a winning reputation at the NRC level, and continue the steady progression of this program into 2015 and beyond. We absolutely have the riders and support to do it. With Felt we know we are going to be on the very fastest framesets available.”
The 10-person Horizon Organic/Einstein Bros Bagels Cycling Team roster includes: Brad Bingham, Fabio Calabria, Mac Cassin, Jake Duehring, Clayton Feldman, Jackson Long, Emerson Oronte, Kit Recca, Chris Winn, and Josh Yeaton.
