Wins at US Junior Track Nationals; Ironman; America’s Dairyland

Felt athletes had another terrific weekend across all disciplines with big wins collected in triathlon, road and track. Here is how it shook out:

Beginning in Carson, CA at the US Junior Track National Championships, it was Team TWENTY16 who set the tone throughout and led by Kirsten Williams and Summer Moak (below) won a total of 10 gold, five silver and four bronze medals! Summer also set a new 2K national record for 15-16yr previously owned by none other than 7x World Champion, Sarah Hammer–quite a performance! On the men’s side it was emerging sprint star Dominic Suozzi (above) who collected no less than four National Championships including gold in the sprints, team sprint, flying 200 and kilo aboard his TK1. By virtue of meeting the international time standards set by USA Cycling, both Dominic and Kirsten have earned start spots in the UCI Junior World Championships in August.

In tri news, both Tim Reed (AUS) and Kelly Williamson (USA) made their Ironman debuts aboard their new Felt IA’s, the world’s fastest triathlon bike, and each rode them to remarkable results. For Tim, he chalked up his first win of the year taking Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs, TX in a sub-four hour time. It was a great race for Tim and afterwards he made note on Twiter “…well it turns out your bike does make a difference. A big one.” For Kelly Williamson, she collected a very gutty second place overall in the prestigious Ironman Coeur d’Alene, ID, her second major Ironman result of the year.

Finally, it was Daniel Holloway (USA) and Team Athlete Octane Cycling who won the individual and team overall in the 11-day Tour of America’s Dairyland aboard their Felt AR’s. For Daniel, he has now amassed an improbable 16 (!) wins so far this year–amazing, especially since we are only in July!
