Irvine, California (March 11, 2016) – Felt Bicycles is proud to announce the addition of BMX and mountain bike racing legend Mike King to the company as Brand Ambassador. King is one of the most accomplished and respected personalities in the sport of BMX racing. A winner of over 20 championships throughout his illustrious racing career, King was inducted into the BMX Hall of Fame in 1999 and the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame in 2013. King transitioned into mountain bike racing in the early 1990s, competing in disciplines such as dual slalom and downhill, in which King won the 1993 UCI World Championship.
King’s new role will see him work with Felt’s team of engineers in developing new off-road bicycle platforms, as well as seek out new talent in the mountain bike community to help increase Felt’s brand awareness at the grass roots level of off-road cycling.
“I’m excited to meet with the Felt dealer base, provide input to Felt’s research and development team, and hopefully be a great spokesperson for the Felt brand,” says King. “And most importantly, I’m excited to help elevate the off-road category at Felt Bicycles. Throughout my career, I learned that it was absolutely crucial to partner with companies who were passionate about building the best products. But it was equally important to partner with companies who were continually willing to raise the bar when it comes to performance. I’m proud to be working with a company like that in Felt Bicycles.”
“We’re super excited to have Mike King join Felt Bicycles,” says company founder Jim Felt. “Mike was an incredible champion, and we’re thrilled that he’ll be bringing his decades of experience racing bicycles at the highest levels of competition to the Felt brand and providing valuable feedback to our engineering team.”
