The second day of the US cup started much earlier than the first, with everyone springing their clocks an hour forward. Nick Ducharme and Anton Petrov, both engineers for Felt and athletes on Team Felt-SDG, as well as teammate David Sheek, all managed to dust off the early morning cobwebs and be ready for the race.
Anton managed to wipe away the most grogginess, as he proved with his spectacular performance in his race, landing him on top of the podium! Nick D and David both did alright too, landing themselves in the top 10 of their respective classes. Quite the performance considering what was working against these athletes, with this being the first race of the season and the time changing the night before.
The pro shot-track took place that afternoon, with team Kenda-Felt and Jason Siegle of Felt SDG returning to take on the fast course. Judy Freeman of Kenda-Felt was able to put on a spectacular performance, landing her in fifth and onto the podium. Colin Cares also had a great race, landing him in top 20 in the stacked pro men’s field.
Overall the event was a success! Team Kenda-Felt and Team Felt-SDG both had successful weekends, and were very happy with having the first race weekend in the books. The expo was great as well; it was busy all weekend with spectators and racers alike. As always, it was great being in the race scene, and we look forward to supporting our athletes and working with everyone at races throughout the season!
